V4 V4 Multi Rear Spring

  1. Does anyone know about changing the rear spring on the multi . I am struggling to find any real information on this as no specs available for the existing spring rate and spring dimensions to source an upgraded spring . The bike is great as it is but all 3 I have owned have this odd trait of a wobble at high ( accelerating) speeds. This is not always there so suspect the rear may be a bit soft on spring rate and may be due to roads surface etc . My Gs never did this . It’s not tyres as far as I can work out as it did it will the Oem set on as well as tested them to see it it was perhaps the tyre profile , pressure etc etc. Thanks in advance

  2. Is it immediately after knocking up a gear? Both the V4's I ride with have a proper wriggle on the back end when really 'on it' and accelerating, usually out of a fast bend.

  3. There was a 44 teeth video that featured this quite a bit, the guys at Ducati set it up for two up with luggage on the dash and Chris said it really helped, IIRC.

  4. If you haven’t already, I’d be getting the bike over to suspension specialist.

  5. Done that but not sure the standard spring works , but unsure , Get the tip in front as it makes it turns better but also has the opposite effect at higher speed. Work in progress . Tried all the settings you can and still feel its a spring issue , the sweet spot its not there , need to reduce the pies.

  8. It’s very visible from behind, the back end is trying to step out, wobbles briefly then settles, we’ve put it down to the harsh quick shifter as doesn’t do it unless shifting. Both these guys came from BMW XR’s, they have a much better/smoother QS, I have ridden one and it was slick, not ridden either of V4 PP’s, my motto is, never ride what you can’t afford lol.

  9. Don't worry about the PP its a no better on real roads , the XR was smooth but hated the motor . The bike is stable if you get to top speed at a sensible rate , aggresive it just can ( not always) wobbles. Tried without the QS , same result which leans me towards the the spring , or maybe my right hand lol..:upyeah:
