Looking at a Ducati v4r now I’m getting it at 29000 it’s got foggy decal open clutch 62 miles left a deposit onit I hope it’s a good deal can anyone confirm
Okay, the advert is utter bollocks. There is no such thing as a limited edition Foggy V4R and it is most certainly not an investment. What it is, is a bog standard, pre facelift, 2019 V4R with an aftermarket paint job. The 25th Anniversary 916 is the genuine Foggy limited edition bike and that is not a V4R, has Akrapovic end cans and was a lot more expensive. From what I can see, the price is not a bargain. Andy
Ye I’ve told him to fuck off tryd telling me it’s got a 3500 clutch onit I said it comes standard on the v4r
I’m sorry to have been the bearer of bad news but thankfully you have got away unscathed. There are a few non franchised dealers on eBay who know very little about Ducatis but they still offer them up for resale without any research into the model. Good luck with your (continued) searching and please, feel free to continue to ask about what you find. Andy
Well you saved me so thank you I’ve actually just left a deposit on a v4s 21k 180 miles ex demo from Ducati dealer I hope this was a good deal lol and 20% off clothing
I’m sure you won’t be disappointed even though you will have to finish the running in period. If it is 6 months old it should have had its first service which is at 600 miles OR 6 months, whichever comes first. You do need to ask the question of the dealer. You should also have the balance of the Ducati, 24 month warranty which includes pan Europe roadside assistance and recovery to home address. Andy
If it's an ex-demo having done 180 miles, I'd suggest following the running-in restrictions at this point is moot
The ECU limits the revs until the run-in period has been completed. Very noticeable on the V4 Streetfighter demo I took out a couple of weeks ago. Andy
Ducati Manchester (found on Duc Worcs site) have the same liveried V4R advertised. At least they say ‘Did you miss out on the Foggy Rep’ https://ducatiworcester.co.uk/inventory-detail.php?id=8900
I had thought I’d seen that livery before at DMC, so perhaps the DMC (group) had more than one done. I am still undecided about the Jemspeed advert, part of me wants to believe it is a mistake through ignorance but this is not the first time a Jemspeed advert has been inaccurate. Andy
Jemspeed - super expensive and quantity over quality. I’m always keen for independent bike shops to succeed but you have to justify at least some of your margins and you have to be competitive with manufacture backed dealers.... This is a pikey shop. Owner is full of it....
Plenty of the 'Real Deal' Foggy Reps on Fleabay for sale. The Bike Specialist in Sheffield created 10 or 12 V4R's as foggy reps. They had TBS 1-12 numbered on the Top Yokes. However these are just 2019 V4R's with a Foggy Sticker kit/ Full Akra and painted chicken feet wheels (same as the V4s & V4r's). They had 1 available @£44950, which then dropped to £39995 I think. I did have some photos but since deleted them.
Saw the same spec bike with the same mileage on Riders today for just under 20K https://twitter.com/RidersBikes/status/1288752189448560641?s=20
