V4 V4s 2021 Brake Pads

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Paul Johnson, Apr 22, 2023.

  1. Hello all,

Has anyone successfully bought a full set of brake pads online for a 2021 V4s? I've searched this forum, and what seems like the rest of the Interweb, but I can't find an online UK supplier of OEM parts. There are a coule of companies in Italy on Ebay that might sell me the correct ones (although I keep finding different part numbers), but who knows what might happen with import tax...

Surely it's not just Ducati dealers that have these in the UK?

If anyone has a suppier that they can recommend then I'm looking for OEM front and back pads.

    Many thanks,

    pj

  2. Thanks for this. I think I was getting myself confused because the images shown don’t look like my pads, but they’re just generic stock images.

Has anyone tried the EBS pads?

    Thanks again,

    pj

  3. Yes. My preference is for either Brembo or SBS. Andy

  4. Changed my front pads to brembo sintered as not enough initial bite with the original ones.

Once the brembos have done 500 + miles they are an improvement over standard, so definitely worth a change

Sportsbikeshop have them on offer at moment https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/374480

As a side note, another very worthwhile change is to swap the tyes to a more road based tyre such as Michelin road pilot 6. Makes the bike much more nimble and less like a GS and more like an XR

PS love your part of Ireland, I go down from UK to Kenmare for a week twice a year , some fantastic single track roads down there, hence I can stay there for a week in Kenmare and still not get bore of going out each day for about 150 mils and then back to Kenmare( lots of pubs an restaurants ! )

    Priest Leap
    Barley Lake
    Ballaghisheen Pass
    Bealach Beama Gap
    Gap Dunloe
    Allihies Tin mine track
    Gabriel’s Mountain

And many more lesser known routes , seems like a lot of bikers just do the “headline” ring of Kerry and miss all the good stuff

  5. I had new pads in March 23 on my V4S at 12.1k Miles. Dealer fitted SBS841HS HH Road Compound on the front and SBS671LS on the rear. The rears definitely needed changing and the fronts would have lasted another 5K maybe, so I decided to have them changed all round.

  6. And how did you find the SBS ones?

  7. Cant say I find them any different from the OE ones, they give good feel and work well. How long they last is TBD.

  8. Thanks for this. After trying the Brembo website again on a grown up computer, and not my phone, I manged to get the full list of compatable pads for my bike and am about to place an order for a full set from Sportsbikeshop. Their 20% off makes them by far the cheapest I've seen.

I ride all year round (often commuting into London for my sins), and I changed both tyres to RP6 at the start of January. I've done about 2k miles since then in all conditions. I've used various Road Pilot itterations on my bikes over the past 10-15 years, but I'm not totally sure about them on the Multi. I just don't seem to have the feel that I expect when I pitch the bike into some of the sweeping bends on motorway junctions. Maybe now the roads are drying out a bit then I'll become more confident, however other RPs have been great in the wet. I've also just adjsuted the chain tension and re-aligned the back wheel too, so that might make a difference.

Now, I'm everso confused about the Ireland reference as I'm in North Hertfordshire in the UK. What happened there ? :)

Thanks again for the Sportsbikeshop link.

  9. I must have had a bit of brain fade, for some reason i thought "west cork paul" posted this brake post , hence the reply included a sub note about ireland. Dont forget with the brembos I did not notice ny immediate difference, it as only after 500 plus miles and then they bite a lot better
