Any one went to Valencia MGP, not by bike just fly there, enjoy booze and racing them fly back? Any suggestions on hotels, which airport/airline. So far found easyjet.
We did it a few years ago. Sleasy Jet was about £100 and the hotel was comfortel which is in Valencia itself at about £130 for 3 nights. Decent enough hotel and about 30 mins drive from the track
Hotel Continental in central Valencia near main Post Office, good clean cheap 2star with buffet breakfast. Get the Metro from Airport to Xativa. Train from Main Railway Station(5mins walk from Hotel) to Trackside station. Easypeasy. Try and get tickets for Grandstand on 1st corner, there's a big screen opposite but not many anywhere else when we were last there.
So easyjet is the flight. Good. Need a bit of holiday this year but will not be able to afford much so was thinking Valencia is good choice. By the time I get there their country will be broke so should be bargain
All Valencia Hotels up their prices by about 30% for MGP. This is the Hotel we stay in. Good Irish pub opposite. The ticket gets you a seat on the stands that go round the outside of the circuit, You are not near the track anywhere but you can see most of the circuit. No general admission but there is a hill outside the circuit, bit of a henmans hill thing. HOTEL CONTINENTAL
There is a hotel on the slip road from the motorway to the track Lucasz, its called La Carreta Hotel La Carreta Its the closest to the track.....little blocks of 4 apartments in the grounds...but book quickly or you wont get a room, otherwise its back to Valencia each day.....Whatever you do, DO NOT CAMP....Lol....
David hotel you suggested is the same price per night as the other one suggested for entire stay LoL.
Weather should be bordering on tee shirt during the day, fleece/jacket in the evening. Camping is at Cheste a few miles down the road also served by the train line that goes to the track entrance. There was a small campsite by the entrance with about 50-100 pitches a few years ago, me and a mate were there in '05, no sleep with bikes minus cans redlining every hour, but they had hot chocolate and local cake(Churios) on sale all night from a kiosk. Race tickets available now about £65 and collect from Corte d Ingles department store but there's about 4 of them in Valencia but probably easier than queing at the track to collect. You want to buy tickets now to get good area, recommend yellow sector. Valencia's a lovely city and is very Spanish, not a lot of english spoken by locals, spend a day or 2 in town if you can. Hotel can be booked through booking.com. Another reasonable hotel in city centre is Hotel Florida, cheaper but no breakfast.
Hotel booked as there were only 2 rooms left for race dates. Now MGP website does not list tickets for sale yet but as soon as they do will buy 3day or most likely 2day pass. If needed can stay day longer to explore city, assuming weather is good. Thx, if any of you going keep in touch.
Well I have extended my stay by one day as return ticket with easyjet was 125 GBP on Monday late in evening. Ryanair Tuesday flight at 1100 was 60GBP. In short room saving 25gbp and staying one day longer. Oh well. Any idea how long does it take from airport to that hotel? Flight on 9th costs silly money Saturday morning cheap.
Airport to hotel, (Xativa) by metro....15mins + 5mins walk. Race tickets for yellow and orange sectors are nearly sold out. orange is probably best now for big screen, these sectors are also nearest main entrance so less walking. pm me your address and I'll post you tourist guide with maps.
What do you mean mostly sold out MotoGP site is not selling tickets for Valencia yet. Where can I buy them?
Is this site legit if so which tickets to get? Valencia MotoGP 2012 - Valencia, Circuit Ricardo Tormo - Moto GP tickets - gpticketshop.com
Cheaper here, Tickets MotoGP Grand Prix 2012 in Valencia - Circuit Valencia Pick up from ElCorte Ingles department store maybe, we did that no problem. Store is 5min from hotel. The site in your link also has 15euro p+p. Can't find anywhere selling raceday only. Track is big amphitheatre, like looking down on scalextric track, good for sound. Anywhere is ok, but if you want big screen book orange or yellow stands.
Valencia itself is worth exploring Lucasz, it has an excellent marine aquarium and a host of museums and art galleries, plenty of restaurants, and is quite a lively place. Why not camp you ask ? Because if you do so at the track there is heavy rock music bursting your eardrums till 6am, and the Spaniards have a horrible habit of trying to blow their engines up by hitting the rev limiter then the kill switch so it sounds like 10,000 machine guns going off, all night.....
hopefully lucaz would be having fun with the very friendly spanish ladies that seem to need a hitchike to somewhere from around 10pm onwards.
