Asking for your opinions please, I've been asked to make an offer on a complete rear suspension from an S2R, swing arm, hub, spindle, sprocket, disc and wheel. I've no idea what to offer, any suggestions welcome please. Thanks, Bob
If I was desperate, and all the parts were in good condition, I would pay up to around 400. If you can get it for 250 then I reckon that would be fair.
Been a while, but managed to get all the above, plus shock and front Marchesini with discs for £320, well chuffed.
Thanks fellas. Doing a very pleased with myself jig at the mo!! That's my long term plan, to acquire an ST4, and follow the style of Atillas Radical project. Normally I get all excited and buy the donor bike first then it sits there for ages while I get the parts. This time I'm gonna try and get as many of the parts first!! A new technique, let's see how it pans out! I'm certainly off to a very good start, chassis wise. Looking out for a 749/999 tank next.
That sir, is a very pragmatic approach that I heartily support. Where might I subscribe to your newsletter?
Ha Ha great reply! Newsletters normally found under the heading of impatient and unplanned! Thought if I could get majority of parts before donor bike then should make the whole project easier and quicker. Like I said, this is an alien way of thinking for me, seen several ST4's going dirt cheap, but have so far resisted!! I have to say, it's actually quite good fun seeing a pile of parts accumulate. Managed to get some great bargains on Evil Bay, even the donor swing arm complete came with a billet Renthal rear sprocket carrier!!! Happy days!!
