Vin Number Sticker

  1. Hi Folks,
I'm going to have the frame of my 97 600ss Powder coated, I would like to remove the VIN sticker from the frame so I can re apply it. Does anyone know if it will self destruct, or can I use the heat gun and safely remove it?.
    Thanks,
    Alan.

  2. AFAIK .... they are supposed to be " tamper-proof " .
Wish I could get a new one ...... but not holding my breath

    :)

  3. Just Google ‘Replacement VIN Label’
There are companies out there that will produce a facsimile replacement. Usually they insist on a photograph of the original so make sure you capture one before any work is done.

  4. Hmm ..... bit of a snag there , because I already wrecked it ..... many moons ago .
I guess I'll have to narrow the search to a business that can do it with just the VIN , and no pic

  5. A copy of the Title showing your name and the VIN should do it.

  6. Image works have done some for my 748, they emailed through 2 different versions to have a look at - I just chose 1 and just gave them my frame number, they did the rest (the one on the pictures isn't my frame number).
