Due to the recent demise (hopefully just temporary) of my S4R I’m having to press my 1979 DT175 into use as a winter run around. It’s presently fitted with knobblies as I only use it for green laning but not only is increased road use wearing the tyres out at a rate of knots, their road performance varies between “appalling” and (in the wet) “absolutely terrifying”. I’ve read reviews for various adventure tyres but they’re for bikes like the Multistrada and GS, which are totally different machines compared to a 17.5bhp 100kg two stroke. Please recommend me some appropriate tyres that can handle a winter/wet road riding mixed with the mucky stuff. Thanks.
