I wish Dealers are struggling for stock right now and are having to be creative to get bikes (and cars)
I was in CMC during the week and it was packed with used bikes, the salesmen were outside valuing about 6 bikes.....mad busy ! First week of decent temperatures and sunshine I guess. My experience is they won’t offer much more for your bike just their margin will be higher, some of the prices for 2017/18 bikes was staggering.
I requested a valuation last night for my v4sf. Simon from ducati stoke called me this morning at 8.45 with a very good offer. So now got to decide whether to let it go or keep it
Out of curiosity I completed a form and have since had an email from Dorian @ Ducati Worcester saying no, they do not buy track bikes. From what I can see looking on here and various other sources elsewhere, they very likely do buy ex-track bikes (as it seems a lot of bikes are used for just that and that only then subsequently returned to their original form to be sold) Dealers either don’t know it, or overlook it to suit their needs.
Can’t be any worse then we buy any bike. They normally go in at about 60% of the market 2nd hand price range.
Well, I filled in the form this morning. Let’s see what sort of a response I get for my V4 Speciale. If nothing else, I should be able to gauge how saleable the bike is (or not) if they choose to follow up my enquiry (or not). Time will tell. Andy
Gave them a go for my 2003 base 998. The guys did reply and offered £8100. I presume they would look at selling it around the £10k mark.
as a joke i've asked on webuyanybike.com and they quoted me 13k... with the carbon wheels and the termi underseat... , that's 4k alone
