Hi Boys & Girls, Well, the cheap, crappy K&N-style crankcase filter has finally started to fall to pieces and I'm looking to return the bike to original by replacing it with the standard breather boxes/hoses. If anyone has some kicking around unwanted, then I'd be happy to send some dosh your way. Cheers, Samurai
Been looking for the hoses for a while my self, they seem to fall to bits, never see them on the bay for sale, the ones on my 750 could do with changing too.
the hose from crankcase and the breather box still available from Ducati the one from box to airbag isn't
That could prove interesting then as i need both for 750. All those years under a tree have taken their toll on the rubber parts
Well I'm buggered, never knew Ducati had fitted airbags - years ahead of the GoldWing then Actually, I've got the hose from the airbox, just none of the rest of it! There's a few on fleebay for exorbitant prices, just thought I'd chuck the worm in the water here first and see if anyone had them kicking around?
Before I knew better, i cut my perfectly good hose in half when taking bike to bits. Could kick myself now. will ring ducati to ask on price. ebay are asking £20 for the set, and i have the breather box.
Hi All, Just to update which you may find helpful. I've ordered a second-hand set of breather boxes and the hose that goes to the airbox from FleaBay for £20 delivered and have ordered a new crankcase breather hose from Moto Rapido which is still available for £11.92 including delivery. I'd previously checked the Stein Dinse website and they show that although the crankcase breather HOSE is still available (part number: 87610451A), the hose to the airbox AND the actual breather boxes are unobtainable. When I ordered the crankcase/breather box hose from Moto Rapido just now, I asked them to confirm if the other hose was in fact unobtainable and they agreed that their records show it has been deleted by Ducati. I didn't specifically ask the guy about the breather boxes, but I'm assuming that the Stein Dinse site is therefore actually correct and only the one hose is now available. Just think before you junk or cut up any of those parts, you may live to regret it!
Interesting. The part number on the Sein Dinse site for the boxes is 58510062A for the carb version (92-97) and 58510082B for the fuel injected models. They look similar on the parts diagrams, but it's hard to tell if the fuel injected version would be a straight bolt-on fit for the carb models. Does anyone know if they are identical or retro-fitted the later version to a carb bike? I can well believe that Ducati would utilise as many of the older models parts as possible for their update, but they usually mention in the catalogue that such and such a part has been 'superceded by part xxx'?
