Hi I am looking for a spindle for a genuine ducati rear paddock stand, to suit my 848. Willing to buy or swop for the larger 1098/1198 spindle. I bought a stand recently of e bay but the two spindles that came with it are 40mm and 42mm which are too large for my 848 but I believe these fit the 1098 / 1198. Thanks Norman 07818477751
Getting one turned down in an engineering shop is the cheapest...... Or call Nigel at Sandbar Composites (07836 241420), he's probably your only other hope, but sit down when you get the price. He got me one from Gubellini who make the DP stand, I'd tried everything else.
Thanks for the response, I am hoping someone who has changed their 848 for a 1098 might be interested in a swop. But if all else fails your suggestion may be my only option
I tried Nigel at Sandbar Composites recently for the same and he didn't have any at the time. So I had an engineering company make one up for me and they charged £25 so I would suggest that would be the best route if Andy cannot find his. regards Mark
Posted an ad on gumtree and got a call last weekend from a guy who had bought a stand for his multistrada but the spindle was too small. He got a sleeve machined to slip over the spindle but agreed to swop his spindle and sleeve for my 40mm sleeve. I now have the correct spindle for my 848 + the machined sleeve so if I get a 1098 in the future, it will still fit. Worked out very well for both of us and discovered some great biking roads on the way to pick up the spindle
