  1. Hi folks
i haven't been affected, but I've seen some posts here with peeps having this issue.

Anyway I read this article and it would appear its about debris and wearing in the pads discs!

    Read on :upyeah:

  2. Excellent link. Kudos to you for posting it & a bloody interesting read. Be that as it may, there are multiple tales on this forum of bad disc rotors; warped or otherwise (pad deposits, whathaveyou).

Long story short, whilst you can frig around with cleaning the rotor, changing pads etc, there's a big improvement to be had by swapping out the bog standard Ducati rotors. Read on.

Like the link states, whilst touted as SS, the OEM rotors are primarily iron "type" rotors. However like all the ancilliary components on the MTS they are fabricated and supplied to Ducati at a mass-produced rate ($). You ain't getting the top shelf kit. They are neither fish nor fowl.

To sort that braking issue out you gotta swap them out with either the BrakeTech SS or "Axis" Iron rotors...or even the aftermarket Brembo replacements. MotoWheels in the US is your friend here.

Neither are really cheap but then again, it's your brakes. Kinda fundamental :)

Shout out to those who have swapped out the rotors....I'm on that journey but those who have done it are VERY happy with the results. My 2c worth.

  3. interesting read.

My bike was suffering from grabby patches rather than warping. They were within tolerance with respect to run out, but the pulsing felt when slowing down was so bad that my local shop said it would fail an Mot after testing it on their brake roller.
Supplying Dealer contacted DUK about this, and they would not replace the disks

After refitting my monobloc calipers and HH pads, all signs of this grabbing have been removed.
I can only assume these were glazed patches.

So, my advice would be to see if you can detect any runout, and if not try some softer/sintered pads.

Sure changing the discs is a great upgrade, but a set of pads is a cheaper thing to try first.
