So, my Multi is 2 weeks out of warranty and the heated grips have given up the ghost. My local dealer (Hyside) are going to submit a warranty claim as its been serviced by them as per the schedule as has only 9000 miles. Any thoughts on my chances of getting this approved? What are Ducati like with warranty claims?, I'm one of those rare breeds that have never made a warranty claim after 3 Ducati's (all new). I'll let you know what happens...
My dealer has always maintained that they (Dealer/Ducati?), as long as the bike's been serviced as required, would tend to honour claims when it's clearly a part failure rather than neglect/abuse. It'll be interesting to see how you get on. Good luck.
My dealer replaced the radiator when bike was 6 months out of warranty and the suspension ecu a week after it ran out. You should have no probs.
Cheers for the positive opinions. Well Hyside called this morning and Ducati have agreed to replace the whole set-up, grips, wiring, control's, the whole she-bang. So that's actually better than i hoped. ...it's seems Ducati are cool with the bike out of warranty as long as it's been looked after and it's a part failure etc...
Well, I don't really want it made a sticky, more of a point to show that the world doesn't end when your warranty does
K. All sorted. Just picked the Multi up from Hyside. All toasty now and they had it done in hour n half. Thanks to Ducati UK for approving it and Hyside for, well doing it really. Noticed one added bonus straight away. On the old grips the embossed "DUCATI" had all but worn away. nice and new now of course.
To prevent the grips from wearing out, I have slipped a pair of Grip Puppies over mine. More comfortable too. Grip Puppies - Handle Bar Foam Grip, Throttle Grip, Motorcycle / Scooter Throttle Grip CoverCover: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike
