so subject to me having access to my drive (block paving project on the go) i should be able to get the 916 out for my 3rd 'come back' ride! I plan to hit the road at about 8 before the traffic starts getting heavy.
what a crap ride... 1hr 20mins did 30 miles.constant traffic and roadworks..i ended up coming home...traffic all the way wtf?? When i returned home i found that one of the bellypan tabs had snapped off too to add to the fun....its all coming back to me why ive only done a few hundred miles in 4 yrs.. :frown:
Bloody weather doesn't know what to do here in Northumberland. Dull and wet earlier this morning, started to dry out, then it rained, started to dry out again and the sun came out. Got my bike out of the garage and it's lightly raining again and only 11c !! Try again tomorrow !!
ive just spent all day in the huff after selling my soul to the devil (her) yesterday to let me play out today so instead I just sat on it in the garage and made noises like an engine and pretended to ride
i went out again later this afternoon...same old story, also i rode like an utter newbie...could not get into it...i think it will take me a long time to get back into riding, if ever..cant say i enjoyed it..couldnt wait to get home..now im aching like a barsteward. My confidence has taken a beating since my spine op last year..ive got a running commentary going through my mind instead of just getting on with it...being in traffic is so frustrating too..i was literally shouting myself hoarse in my lid..i got stuck behind a tractor for miles and then a van chucking up stones...fkn crap.
Keep at it , I had a massive accident in an Audi years ago, all four corners, wheels hanging off etc, took me months to feel happy behind the wheel, I'd get cramp in my toes from constantly scrunching them up in fear, it goes eventually.
pretty warm out still, thinking of doing a midnight ride as theres just too much traffic in the day now, might take the scenic route to Manchester from Sheffield and blast back on the snake
I'll be out later...........just have to keep my granddaughter amused for the next 3-4 hours till son/future wife haul their sorry arses out of bed
no riding for me today, heading out to the forest for bbq with the daughter (she wants hot dog sausages..... FFS) How can do i bbq those? lovely day here hope to get some tan and relaxation, and try to fend off the holidaymakers
Out and back already, drinking coffee on the decking and Doris is cooking bacon. All good in my hood...
ive just got up...didnt hit the sack until 6 this morning...* *'got up' and 'hit the sack' are cues for witty responses
well i went out for another 'test ride' today...stuck in traffic for the first hour (tractors, caravans, half marathon, horse event with muchos horseboxes, cycle race...you name it)...the temp was right on maximum, fans going mental..also i rode like a total newb...even braking at about 20mph pootling round a gentle left hand bend into the opposite lane...wtf??? fkn idiot....neck aching like a barsteward... i actually said to myself that my motorcycling days are probably over.....temples now pounding with underlying anger, i pulled over to wipe my dirty helmet, turned around to go home....i opened the taps all the way back, red mist down...and ironically most of the traffic had gone (?)..cut a long story short, i rode past my house, fuelled up again and did another 60 odd miles and actually started enjoying myself... ive still got chicken strips, which i havent had on my tyres for about 10 years....ive noticed that the Racetecs do not retain heat and seem to take a long time to warm up, but maybe thats because i was driving miss daisy for most of the time...although the rear tyre has made a good job of eating a 50p size hole into the hugger....i have a very aggressive temper which i managed to satiate by smashing some old garden tools...anyway, Bella the Bitch looked nice parked in the countryside, even though she's now acquired a new hole in the hugger and a snapped off tab on the bellypan (now held on with duct tape)..
