  1. The mild steel pipes on my Zx7r Ninja have started blowing. Looks like crack in the section just before the end can. I think my bike wants to be retired :frown:

  2. ... or welded.

  3. Genius. Pete are you any good with a tig? or whatever flippin type of welding will be needed. (smiley face, smiley face)
    see what I did there.......

  4. If you want to ship it back and forth to glasgow i will do it for nowt

  5. Thanks for the offer, but I may try somebody local first :upyeah:

  6. No sorry, I'm clueless with welding. But your local Kwik-Fit will probably have a guy who can weld up holed exhausts.

  7. I had a good look in the daylight total and is not really a crack, more a 15cm split down the join than runs along the inside of the pipe :frown:

  8. I had a ZZR1100 and the mild steel exhaust went on that on the tapered section from the front of the silencer down to the front pipes. Tried welding but it was so rotten it blew a way. I ended up plating it with thin mild steel sheet basically wrapped it around the rotten bit. sprayed it with black VHT paint. Lasted but I went to a scrapper in Derby area that just dealt in Kwackers and got second hand exhaust.
You might as well look for some kind of replacement because you will need one in the end. Welding won't last

  9. Lucky my old 7r had the full akra system on it!! Miss that bike

  10. 7R's are awesome bikes, I remember riding one when they first came out. A bit of liquid metal will probably give you some short term relief with no welding required. That'll sort it out until you can get to a welder.
