Well, it's been just over six years since I sold my beloved 1098R to fund a boat purchase, and I'll admit, I missed that bike each and every sunny day. Boat was sold last year, and I've been contemplating a bike purchase again. I test rode a BMW S1000RR Sport yesterday and didn't find it as much fun as my old 1098R, it just had no character and whilst it was quick, it didn't give me that wow factor the 1098R did. Looked at the new Yamaha R1 but they didn't have a demonstrator, So………… Just started looking at 1098R's again and other than "blimey, how much?!" (bought my old one for £12k in 2013) I'm hoping to secure something in the next few weeks. Will be good to back on a Ducati again. Also nice that most of the modified/performance parts I put on my old one are still available for sale new…..i see the credit card getting hammering! Any other 1098R pilots still out there?
A boat? Don’t “they” say the two best days of owning a boat are the day you buy it and the day you sell it?
As the old joke goes, the two best days in a boat owner's life are the day they buy a boat and the day they sell it.
The definition of a boat - a hole in the water that you pour money into! Speaking from personal experience
I'm quite flexible on budget, it's all about finding the right bike. I'd like one as original as possible ideally.

If you're ever passing Fishguard, West Wales, pop in and see mine, not actively selling but I could be persuaded to part with it as I don't ride it and it needs a better home
Very nice piece of kit! I had a 47" IOR convert which I solo circumnavigated -wonderful times. I'm just finally finishing up a refurb on a little Hobie Cat to get back on the water. There's nothing quite like sailing, but with UK weather (and being an old git now) some lake sailing in summer should scratch that itch.
If it flies, floats or fornicates; rent it don't buy it Obviously doesn't apply to bikes - good luck with the search
