  1. I'm planning on treating my bike to some upgrades in the spring but really not sure what to get so was wondering if people had any upgrades done that they swear by as money well spent? I haven't done anything drastic so far but very happy with each update:

    • Touring seat (much more comfortable than stock)
    • Replaced the tyres at the first opportunity and it made a massive difference. Currently on Michelin Road 5
    • 30mm clutch slave cylinder (original leaked and significantly easier to operate, especially in town- highly recommend)

Especially tempted by handsfree tank opener, grand turismo windshield and see through clutch cover. Also due for a replacement chain but planning to go for original unless anyone heard of better alternatives?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

  2. Tune engine to 200bhp and fit carbon wheels!! Job done.!! :upyeah:

  3. Oh and did anyone get a quick shifter installed?

  4. Haha sounds very expensive! How much of a difference do the carbon wheels make on a bike this heavy?

  5. Don’t go for original chain, they seem to rust without even getting wet
D.I.D gold are what I like and if looked after will last 25k miles and when changing the chain consider going 1 less tooth on front sprocket (or 3up on rear, I think) Bike more responsive and controllable around the towns

  7. Lossing any unsprung weight especially the wheels will help in acceleration and handling. Must help even with a mutley.

  11. My top tips changed my tyres to road 5s made a massive difference fitted a sat nav and heated grips
Good for the trips I do and keeping warm had to buy a low seat as I'm a short arse still struggle a bit with the height but would not sell the multistrada because of it and Im in the process of changing the fuel cap to a hands free I think this is a great up grade as getting to a petrol station then fumberling for the key so well worth the cost in my humble opinion oh and tail tidy purely for looks there still things I would like to do to my multistrada but it will have to wait a bit as the multi is going in for its 15,000 mile service in February
But mainly you should just go out a ride the thing and enjoy it

  12. image.jpg I put some SW Motech evo footpegs on, changed the pillion to useable pegs as the std ones are useless with panniers, and put tennis racket grip tape around the factory heated grips to "fat" the bars out a bit for my stupidly big hands.

  13. Mentioned earlier by Fire3500,
    Evotech protection.

First thing I do to any bike I have... Rad Guard.

Save yourself a shit load of pain and put one on immediately.

  15. Change chain and 42T rear sprocket. ACF everything!! If you’re shorter on the leg get some bark buster or similar hand guards (the plastic is like egg shell). Tyres you’ve done. Valve eliminator or do the mod yourself so you don’t get any future issues

  16. I’ve done
    Mra vario screen
garmin 595 on Ducati Mount (vibrates too much)
    Key free fuel cap
    Ducati tank pad
    Touratech front and rear seats
    Touratech side stand foot
    Touratech footpegs
    Touratech controls
Ducati small and large tank bags
    Ducati heated grips
    Givi black outback trekkers
    Givi toolbox
    Full evotech protection
    Givi usb power connector

and I wish I’d kept the hypermotard sp lol

  17. Water and oil rads essential
    MRA Vario screen very good
Grip puppies are cheap, comfortable, and very effective (take note @laava)
Side stand big-foot worthwhile. I resisted for years but having fitted one I wish I'd done it long ago. Toura-Twat ones are expensive. Cheaper ones on ebay worth a punt.
14 tooth front sprocket and DID chain are a good upgrade. Be warned, the front sprocket, even the 15t one, can wear quickly. If you can afford it better fit a 42t rear sprocket.
Whilst you are in a chain mood, fit a Scottoiler which will keep the chain in good condition and extend its life.
Rapid Bike module helps with a smoother torque curve, but not essential.
The rest is bling IMHO and up to you.

  18. Are any upgrades "essential"? I doubt it. ;)

  19. Don't believe El Toro. He was the first to buy after-market horns for his bull. ;)

    Back on topic:
Rad guards if you don't have them. They're inexpensive and light.
    Best mod: 42T rear sprocket.
A quickshifter is a nice upgrade but not essential. If you're going that route, the Rapidbike unit has one and will solve the 1200's torque dip as previously mentioned.
