1200 DVT What Are The Benefits Of Full Termignoni System?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Asgun, Feb 28, 2017.

  1. Hello friends!
My 2016 Multistrada 1200S has stock exhaust and final upgraded ECU which I like very much.
What are the benefits of a full Termignoni System?
Okey, it's sound is great and being louder saves us sometimes in traffic.
    But,
How does it affect fuel consumption?
    Does it really increase power?
Does the engine relief and work with less stress?
Doesn't catalytic converter actually produce some pressure which causes some torque at low revs?
Does removing catalytic con. reduce heat, especially in heavy traffic in summer?
Are final ECU with normal exhaust and Termignoni ECU similar? I mean final ECU is great, what about Termignoni full system ECU? Is it refined as final ECU?

    Thanks!

  2. It sounds better.

  3. Sounds amazing, gives full power from the engine & that is quite some difference. You wake the neighbours & get admiring looks from jealous town folk. Birds will take flight & wild animals will avoid your potential path usually.

  4. Quite a weight saving too

  5. The sound, less weight, less heat, the new ECU sets it up properly, the bike seems to 'breathe' easier and it definitely feels faster. Did I mention the sound?!?

  6. It has also been known to make the under-garments of the opposite sex fall right off!

  7. Only if they are nylon and get melted by the heat from the exhaust in most cases.......

  8. Sound alone will make it feel faster. Try riding with no earplugs if you normally do....I have yet to see a dyno that shows it gives any big power difference, but what it does seem to do it give a bit more mid range and make power a bit earlier. In fact, if you look at the arrow decat system, it gives 2hp less but adds 6hp at 6k revs and several lbft too so better to ride where you need it :)

  9. Gets rid of the ugly pregnant bulge which is the cat. Pickup is more rapid. Sound is very nice. Looks a bit more ugly than the standard shotgun can.

If you have the cash spare, it's lovely. If you don't, leave it.

  10. I'm running the homologated termi complete with cat, it does sound better than stock but it's nowhere near as loud as my stock 899 was....at least that's what I thought, until I took it to Oulton park last Saturday, measured 102db at 5.5k, I was advised it was on the limit! Be careful with your choice if you're planning any track time :)

  11. I have the full termi, I don't think it's that loud TBH....

  12. Yes....... to your wallet :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

  13. I get more mpg with full Termi system with ecu although mine is older 2012 pp. much better low down grunt.

  14. I've got the full Termi.

Since installation I've noticed the following:

    My bank account is lighter.
Admiring looks from the opposite sex.
    Food tastes better.
    My pillow seems softer.
My lawn seems to need cutting less.
My feet don't hurt as much.
When I wake up of a morning, I spring out of bed, knowing I did the right thing in life, I bought a full Termi.

    You should too.

  15. The look is the only reason I keep stock, termi not pretty imo.

  16. Like my friends say is like someone cut an arm (human body part) and put it there.

  17. I had a Termi on my 2013 Multi. And very nice it was too. I have an Arrows on my 2015 DVT multi. And very nice it is too and half the price for the same weight saving, which is the main advantage ...................................and the looks and the sound though perhaps slightly less cachet.

Up to you, but I don't see much difference between the two out on the road, only in my wallet and the self satisfaction of getting better value for money. (At this point I'd add an Emoti but I haven't found out how to do it)

  18. Do you get a new ecu with your arrow system like you get with the Termi?

  19. I get ya, but an extra 1000 smackers for the new up map ??? Cmon !! :astonished:

Considering alternatives for my bike lately, but due to price and looks, will have to look for alternatives to Termi.

  20. I hear you of course Wayne but it makes such a difference to the bike. It sounds gorgeous, gives better gas miles (important if you are keeping the bike for 50 years), but much more important the mid range is vastly improved and on older bikes like my 2012 PP it makes the motor pull much cleaner from 2000 rpm.
As for the 1000 smackers? You could have got a different bike for 5000 smackers less.
