What Do I Need For A European Trip?

Never bothered with any of that but AA or RAC websites should have info.

 

License, passport, chunnel ticket, clothes, toiletries. Thats the way I roll. Light.

 

Seriously, Euro/GB stickers/numebrplate, licence, logbook, insurance. That's it.

 

Fuel and a disregard for all road laws.

 

Get a road bike cranker and come have a laugh

 

Im thinking of it. no night time riding on my stuff though!

 

I hate riding at night. My night vision is poor. Plus Ducati lights are shite.

Seriously, don't bother with the GB/EU stickers. I've never had them and I've been riding abroad (and pretty much only abroad) for 30 years. And I have been stopped by the Bill a few times in that period and they have never even been mentioned.
The only people who have them are dull touring types on BMWs and Pan Europeans.

Haha, last Monday I returned from Germany, lost my number plate somewhere in Breda (NL) and managed to arrive in Salisbury that evening. So don't you worry. Here's a picture waiting for the boatin Calais with a DIY number plate.

 

Durex, pack of fags, iphone and a credit card, that's all you need.

 

Definitely Durex with fags. Maybe some Vaseline too.

 

And a bike. Don't forget the bike.

This is a list of things that, after browsing the web, I believe I must/might need:

1) ID / passport

2) driving licence with counterpart

3) V5

4) printed vehicle insurance

5) MOT
not required for vehicles < 3 years (I hope they know this abroad)

6) european Breakdown Cover

5) GB sticker
If no EU markings are displayed on the number plate

6) hi-viz jacket

7) spare bulbs ???
I've got all LED except for the high beam. What do they expect me to spare? High beam bulb only? The full LED kit?

8) reflective stickers on helmet ???
Many people told me they don't give a toss about them, can I forget about them?

9) travel insurance ???
Is it good to have one, really?
(I've got european breakdown cover with Ducati and 180 days european motor insurance with MCE... that should cover personal injury and legal stuff for me and my pillion)

10) european health insurance card
I'm not 100% sure but I think I've got it from when I was still in Italy (it's issued for every citizen).

11) green card
I just need to phone my insurer, correct?

Can you help me to clear my doubts?
Eventually, which countries are famous to trouble motorcyclists for loud exhausts? And what about dark visors?
