2003 03 DUCATI 900 SUPER SPORT NATIONWIDE DELIVERY | eBay It has Ohlins and looks like the 5 spoke Marchesini rims, which makes me wonder if it has all the goodies on it that they threw on the 1000DS, ie the alloy swing arm, the lighter forks and the lighter headlight unit. Anyone know?
Last of the 900ss ie but with a senna colour scheme, and defo the alloy swingarm as I had a 900ss in red
I sold them my 999S earlier this year - they seemed genuine to deal with and gave me a good price that it wouldn't sell at on MCN (£4700). They added £1000 on the showroom price so this gives you an idea of their mark % up for bartering
Weren't they a bit parts bin bills of materials by then? I'm not sure there was any consistency with the bought in components at that point.
Fully adjustable Showa front forks with rebound ,compression and preload adjustments. Same forks as 748 998 front forks iirc.? Better with aftermarket replacement springs in them. It is an Ohlins rear unit,but don't don't get over excited,it's not bad at all,bit it's a poor mans version done for Ducati, not the same internal quality as an aftermarket Ohlins. The headlight is piss poor. Fact. It does have the same aluminium swinger and lighter marches uni wheels. But a bike is an overall package,and this is a very capable machine indeed in the right hands. The nice thing is its a rewarding bike to ride,as you can use 100% of its power on the road,holds a line very nicely when set up, prefers Pirelli or Michelin tyres, a good fun bike. Except in town ofcourse.
Yes the 1000DS SSie has the same forks as the 900SSie, well they certainly look the same on my 2 anyway. Not the same forks as the 748/916/996 etc at all. P.S. the headlight is fine.
Great, thanks. Seems the only missing bits are plastic lightweight headlight, white clocks and of course the engine. So, I bought one last night for 1900 quid. Now to get a Monster 1100 evo in there somehow.......
Cool, not the best looking bike from some angles but a joy to ride. We have 3.5 SSie's in the garage between the wife and I.
I also have a 94 900. The ie is starting to age more gracefully to me. Love it from all angles! Carb one looks a bit like a baby elephant from the front to me! Cute but not particularly elegant....
Sounds like a good buy for that money. Single seat, Half fairing with 999 stylee lighting and Bobs your uncle...
