what exhaust?

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Mike749, Dec 12, 2013.

  1. I'm sure its been asked many times! But what exhaust I'm struggling to find any for the 749!

    Thanks

    Mike

  2. Hi. I think GPR and Mivv make exhausts for the 749.
Think they are both reasonable quality, but no idea re how they match up (as in fitment).
    Not too crazy price either.
Had a Mivv GP can on my FZ1 and it sounded awesome.
    Hope this helps.
    Andrew.

  3. Poss Remus also.

  4. Not sure if Storm systems can still be found. Really nice, looks similar to a Zard. Lovely welding and great noise but the number plate/light bracket is a bit crap (held in by rivets). Got one on my 999S.
Biggest problem i have is getting through noise tests on trackdays, it's normally running about 104db or 102db with baffle.

  5. Anybody recommends the termi slip on??

  6. Got full termi system on mine and v happy with it. Think the termi slip on is poss quite rare / not available as a new item?

  7. this is indeed very helpful! i was fairly upset when i realised i couldnt get a termi new!
think im going to get a termi off the ebay rather than anything else! would make my dad happy if i got one too as hes a big fan!
i shall bide my time no rush :D
one more question! the 749s is a shallow sump right?

Thanks for your help guys! and hope to get a ride in with the hampshire guys soon :)

    Mike

  8. Yes it is.

I had Mivv silencers on my 749 bip. Lovely looking things they were.

  9. can always try Leo Vinci

  10. Wasn't he a painter among other things? Didn't know 749's were around in the 15-16th century.

  11. as yes, I was staring through a time window at Robert Bullivant's 1995 picture "to fly without wings" which shows a 916 in da Vinci studio....

If I could get my camera working I'd be clever and post a picture

failing that, the correct answer would be Leo Vince

Storm do a fantastic full Ti system , or just the endcan , I can recommend them.

  14. Phil at Storm exhaust is a friend I'm out with him tomorrow.
He is still making exhausts if you cant find is email let me know I will sort it
Both my bikes have storm ti systems

  15. That's good to know as I need to get hold of him to get some Ti plugs off him , I needed my system quick and he didn't have any Ti ones left so he fitted steel , I never got back to him to resolve this.
It was good to deal with Phil and he gives a guarantee on his work as well. Top bloke
Tel him Pete from Guernsey says hello and 2yrs of racing and his system is still purrfect.

  16. No Worries
Had my 998 1098 system for nearly 3 years now.
    I will let Phil know.

  17. How many poundies was that system, Pete baby ? I love your rear end.

  18. You'd do well to leave the s/steel plugs in rather putting ti ones into a ti boss.

  19. What's the weight-saving like?

I have a Ti can for my Tornado and it's ridiculously light, despite being quite bulky...

    cheers,
    Dom
