I love the multi cus it ticks all the boxes as the do-all machine but I have itchy feet (or hands may be better). I think any one who has owned a Multi with out any major issues would have to admit that it would be a hard act to follow. I usually change my bike every year but I have had the red for nearly two years now and think it must now be time to move on. So the question is what next? The only thing that excites me is a Diavel because it is so different and out there but its a marmite bike. Is there any thing I have missed? With the bike show looming I need to be inspired to splash the stash.
It's simple Dick, ....I'm sure there's a pun there but won't bother. The answer to your dilemma is not just one bike but two Ducatis no, make that three, no make that ? Seriously, The Multistrada Grand Tourismo best bike on the adventure genre buy far and complement it with a sports/classic/cafe racer/project bike, Ducati of course! ....although excuse me for swearing here but a KTM 1290R?...but nah it ain't a Ducati. Good luck with your choice, see you at the show on the Ducati stand sat on a Superleggera! vj
...forgot to mention, just changed my Multi after two years...yep you guessed it for another Multi! ...You'll regret it if go for another make!
After 32k Miles on a 2010 model (that one knew its own way back to the dealer!) I went for another Multi - just could not find anything else that came close. The 2013 has 11k on it now and has had one fault (Heated Grips had to be replaced) That is it! The new engine is perfect and so it the Sachs Suspension. The 1290 KTM would be on my list next time round but it would have to VERY good to beat the Multi, mind you an 899 Panigale looks tempting as yet an other bike!
if you think the 2013 multi is smooth you should try the 899,i hope the next gen of multi has the SQ engine.
