I use a single pin one adapted from the multistrada to fit the Monsters centre hub And an adjustable two arm type to support the swing arm for the SS. How about you?
Got any pictures? I haven't got any, but sort of looking what's out there, so once I spot something I like, I'd buy it.
Harris if your after one for a double sided swingarm. It has a good amount of easy lift for what is a heavy bike.
Abba Skylift, more £££ than a paddock stand but I haven’t the need to buy front and rear stands. Another bonus is I can move the bike around once it’s lifted. https://www.demon-tweeks.com/abba-s...pping Service (CSS)&utm_campaign=323889&gad=1
I have a pair of crappy ones which do the job just fine. I note Harris do a set for >£350. Fuck that. I can get a set of new tyres for that.
Ive got a Harris one and the latest Oxford version. The Oxford one just doesnt have the easy leverage of the Harris stand and makes the bike very heavy to lift so is used on the Street Triple. I've had the Harris stand for 20 years, i doubt the Oxford one will last that. Each to their own.
Mine is an old 916 one by Champion which has a small 'lean'. Ive owned it for 20yrs. I made a nylon 40mm thing and used it on my old 1198 and now my 1299. If I had more money, of course i'd upgrade them. But they work fine. If I bought new ones, I'd be stuck with the problem of getting rid of my old ones. TBF, my front under forks one is a bit shit and is the one I'd replace. But I can still get my wheel off ok. I'm being sustainable.
I’m not having a dig, mate. it’s usually the case you get what you pay for with engineered stuff. My Harris stand will probably outlast three cheaper stands so I reckon it’s the more sustainable option.
I'd probably go for the rear only anyway, ease of use for chain cleaning and all that. The Harris for £1oo doesn't seem excessive to me. Looks quality as well. But always good to see what other people use, and how happy they are with it.
I’ve only ever had rear paddock stands, up until a few months ago when I bit the bullet and got a front stand as well. It’s made cleaning the front wheel so much easier.
My strada will have a central stand, so I'm hoping it will lift the front wheel anyhow. But picking it up end of the month, so I don't know yet. It could very well be leaving front touching, and read hanging! Remains to be seen.
You can move the front wheel with the bike on the centre stand but not easily. You need to hold the back of the bike down if you want to lift it higher
