WARNING....BIKE THREAD Thinking ahead and a Jap IL4 thou, about 3.5-4.5k R1? ZX10r which model? Gixxer thou? fireblade - got chance of good RR5? recommendations? Not ridden IL4 since I had an RR4 and loved that but want something which may still be roughly competitive at lower end club racing
For the money you've mentioned are you wanting it already track prepped? Or are you just wanting a road bike with v5 and then you'll convert from there?
Prepped track/race bike. Got a decent px offer on a RR5 or 6, cant remember which, with reasonable spec, but hanker after a K5/6 and ther are some decent spec R1's about, 08 model for same money. I hear the Yam is more like a ducati front end feel, the gixer more raw
I had an 05 R1 race bike for a year or two, got it off EBay for around 4K with V5 with WOW, AP calipers, cans, Gilles rearsets, ohlins shock, PC and QS, clip ons, load of spares to give you an idea... Never missed a beat but just didn't gel with it fully, bigger bike than you think but bloody quick for sure. Plenty of good bikes out there for the money but plenty of shonkers too!

Don't want the maintenance costs of a Duke. Decided being a heavier bloke I need something which gives me less disadvantage, but I'll have to learn to ride quick all over again! So welcome to the back of the fast group again...until I learn ;-) And buying Multi for real world riding ;-)
