I cant make my mind up . One minute it's this , the next it's that. Last week was a 888 . I've had one , loved one and have even found a nice one at the right price. Before then I always liked the look of a 1098 . Always have since they came out. Kinda a tick the box because at some point I feel i'll get one. Lastly and I do keep coming back to these is an 821 hyper. Have sat on many and really do like what they are . Can do miles on them , scratch and even a trackday no problem im thinking. I don't do many miles . I don't want to get caught speeding either so I feel that doesn't help the 1098's case. Yes the throttle works both ways but ....... Price is not far off the same for all of them. 888's will hold their money though. Advice welcome please
Any one got a steer on this ? would love some feedback from any owners of 1098 and Hyper bikes please
Ive just bought a hyper 821 sp and coming off sport bikes I've got to say it's the most fun I've had on 2 wheels Can't fault the bike Still quick enough when the mood takes you and got so much more confident in the twistys
buy a 1098/1198 brilliant bikes, do track days and that will stop the speeding worry. then enjoy them on the road at lower speeds, i ride my 1198 everywhere, only small grumble is tank range.
Replies = confusion ! The 916 is easily a no. I hate the 916 shape. Yes I know I'm odd but it never did it for me. A 999 is almost better. I considered a 1098 on the track but spent 15 years racing bikes so I've not really got a track yearning any more. A 1098 is just a beautiful bike in my eyes, maybe what people see in a 916. A had a 888 for a couple of years. Loved it for what it was, never did many miles on it and just loved it . If I had more cash then I'd get an SP version and that sorted. The hyper I feel could be best of worlds. If I wanted to do miles it could , and it could be fun at a speed less likely to get me in trouble . I truly don't see how you road riders can clock up miles and not get caught out but these speed cameras on motorways and a roads. It's just too easy to be 15mph over . £6500 is enough for a Hyper, similar for a 1098 whilst a 888 can be had for a little less , I've found a lovely one for £5500 Wife says yes to any so that's sorted.
