I'm very unhappy. Last weekend I dropped my 2002 Senna colour scheme 900ss ie. Hardly moving; turning down a steep slope. So - damage is as follows (all on LHS): LH Indicator smashed LH Mirror broken Front LHS top fairing panel scrapes Rear LHS 'pod' scraped Tank scraped (at the widest point. slightly scraped LHS exhaust All damage really is superficial... Last winter I refurbished the bike, so the frame is newly powder coated (dark grey metallic), and the whee's as well (red). Really, to sort this properly, I ought to repair the plastic and tank, and respray. so there's an option to change the colour scheme. Seems like a lot of work however you go... ... but there are obviously other options: Change the colour scheme (I can't work out what would be good colours, given that I'd want to keep frame and wheels the same) Use the opportunity to cafe the machine... Break the machine (has desirable swinging arm, perfect engine, good suspension etc) and buy something for the value plus the amount I'd have spent re-working.... Any ideas? Nick
Did nearly the same damage to my '96 SS - (note to self - don't touch the front brake when trying to turn on gravel.) It'd be a shame to break the bike for that amount of damage. Do you not like the Senna scheme? Mine's nearly done, f/glass and primer finished, have decals, just have to do colour (red) and clear coat.
I have good rear panels (good enough for a quick respray as they are black) and stock exhaust if you need. Got a black and a grey seat as well if you are thinking of a colour change. I fitted modern mirrors to mine with indicators in them, it made the bike look a bit more up to date.
