What to look out for ???

  1. Hi.
I put a deposit down on a 10 plate ABS model on Saturday leaving the final decision to Monday.
Are there any points I need to get looked at before I sign on the dotted line i.e. any recalls, software upgrades etc.
Bikes only done 4000 and they're going to do the 15000m service.
It's coming from Riders in Bridgwater so they're a main dealer, just want to make sure I don't miss anything
    Any advice will be welcome.

Looking forward to joining the fold ......

    Thanks in advance

  2. Early models had some surging/fueling issues that were apparently corrected via an ecu update to enrich the air fuel ration. Check the dash lights don't glow faintly when the indicators are on....sign of an earthing issue....

I think that's about it....there are many posts along this vain....simply run a search....

Don't let it scare you though as on these forums one often only sees the bad news....the bike is fantastic! Good luck and enjoy her all the way! :upyeah:

PS....check out "secret fixes" a bit further along the posts....lots of info there....
PS2 forgot to mention the rear brake upgrade....am sure riders will sort that.

  3. +1 to MultiRider, they are awesome machines _ buy and ride !!

  4. Hi Rivets, you're local to Riders Bridgwater? (I'm Weston Super Mare;-)
All updates/recalls should be checked as a matter of course......what Warranty are you getting, that's the important thing, push for 12m extended Warranty even if you have to pay ;-)
15K service thrown in/.....really??....that should include valves check/adjust, fork oil change, spark plugs and more!!

Brian (stickywicket) will be at Riders from about 10am (from Plymouth) to have some work done on his bike.......I'm hoping to get down to meet him there but may be later in the day.

    Welcome

  5. Hi
    Thanks for all your replies.
    AndyW, yes, from sunny Yeovil.
Mat from Riders had a look in the Service book while i was there and confirmed they would be doing the 15K service

I test rode the bike saturday but was so busy grinning and shouting "yihaaaa" I didn't have time to look out for any issues !!

I'll phone tomorrow and haggle the warranty but I got the sob story about giving me too much for my trusty tiger so don't feel there will be any movement there.

    thanks again guys, much appreciated
