V4 What Tool ?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by ymfb, Jul 5, 2023.

  1. I have bought some very Evotech adjustable levers from a member on this forum. To change them from the OEM it is necessary to remove the ferrule of sleeve in the photo.

How have others removed it and what tool did they use.

    thanks

  3. And a word of warning, do not under any circumstances switch the ignition on until the new lever is fitted and adjusted correctly.
The clutch lever has two switches underneath. One is switched off and one on by the lever when it’s closed. When the lever is opened it switches one on and the other off.
If both switches are on or off at the same time, it will short the connections out and require a new switch.
Don’t ask me how I know this!!

  4. Tried gently drifting, but difficult with the switch connected. I created a press from a 1/4 drive 8mm socket, 1/2 drive spark plug socket and my grandads G clamp. Wife turned the screw whilst I held the assembly together. One done, one to go. Thanks for the tips.

  5. Thanks for that information, although sadly I didn’t read your post until the lever was fitted, luckily I didn’t turn the ignition on.

  6. After plenty of head scratching, I just used a socket and rubber mallet.

  7. I've used a hex head bolt with a nut and washers to pull the sleeve into a tube
