What's Your Top Ducati Niggle?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by DarR, Oct 22, 2023.

  1. What's the things that annoy you the most which Ducati could correct at little or no cost?

Personally, Like that on my car, I would like an accurate speedometer that matches my GPS.
Secondly, I would like to re-set the oil warning lamp myself.

    What's yours?

  2. Better quality fixings, I would be happy to pay more for better quality fixings

  6. It's true that most Ducatis don't have one but many of the newer ones do.
Personally, a better proxy would be "Distance to Empty".

  7. This is definitely my biggest gripe......
With all the tech Ducati have thrown at these bikes, surely a fuel gauge can't be that hard to squeeze into the mix !!!

  8. Old Ducatis - fasteners and their ability to fur and look shit in 20 miles of new
New Ducatis - how impossible the easiest things, taking off bodywork replacing batteries etc, are!

  9. Firstly, lack of cruise control on lots of their bikes
Secondly, yes , ..it would be nice to be able to reset oil / service lights

Regarding quality of finishing, I have nothing to complain about, much better quality than average I think.

  10. Cocky dealers

Cocky in most seem not to need to be good, because their product is sought after.

Oh and servicing availability. Seems only one person a year graduates from Ducati mechanic school.

  11. But that has revenue stream implications

  12. Fuel sender on its fourth purchase, some were under warranty.

  13. Easy reset of the service light would be nice and get rid of the unnecessary stupidly small Allen headed bolts.

  14. Crap engineering design in some many places on recent bikes

  15. Multi Strada has that, well mine does

  16. Try owning a vx220....

  17. excellent and original thread idea.
    Where to start?
748/916/996 etc - reduce diameter of swing arm pivot between bearings by approximately 40 thou on diameter.
Multistrada 1000DS etc replace ineffective Dzus and rear pin fixings with long "hinge pin" fixing on battery cover.

  19. They don’t make an ST V4s Sports tourer. It would be dead easy to do and they’d sell loads of them. meanwhile Kawasaki are cleaning up.

  20. Lack of fuel gauge. Some fastenings made of cheese.
