Hi, Does anyone know definitively if replacement wheel bearings should be C3 rated? or NOT C3 rated. I ordered a set of replacement bearings based upon the codes on the old bearings which I believe to be OEM fitment. Fronts FAG 6005.C3 Rears SKF 6303-2RS1/C3 So I ordered a set online, admittedly not "branded" just generic bearings: 6303-2RS-C3 and 6005-2RS-C3 When the fronts were fitted they definitely had a "graunch" as if worn out...I have just removed them and once un-mounted they are as smooth as you like.... I asked the seller who said I should NOT be fitting C3 in wheels - sounded fishy to me... more like the fact that the generic are clearly low quality? They have suggested SKF bearings that are not C3 rated... Any thoughts? - Do I repurchase SKF C3 bearings or SKF standard? Cheers Grant
Found this, https://laverdaforum.com/threads/c3...bearings are most commonly,to a shaft or both. on the Laverda forum. Andy
I think C3 is for things (like crank main bearings) that get hot aren't they? Anyway, I don't know so looking forward to some more qualified answers.
You’re in France iirc, if you’re not aware (but you may be) 123bearing.eu carry all that you need in stock, at good prices, and ship quickly - you’ll get them even quicker than me
