Wheel Protective Bags?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Monners, Jun 13, 2016.

  1. Does anyone know where I can get some protective bags for my spare wheels?

  2. I have 2 different types. I just bought a pair of lightweight Cap It bags from Crescent Motorcycles in Verwood. They are just that, unpadded nylon bags with carry handles that will protect from scratches but not knocks. I have a second canvas bag that carries both wheels which is more robust and padded that will withstand knocks. I think HPS do the heavyweight version. The main drawback with the canvas bag is 2 wheels and a set of discs is awkward to handle and is quite heavy. The individual wheel bags are much easier to carry. Hope this helps, Andy

  3. Thanks guys, I was hoping there was something heavy duty that didn't cost £120 but doesn't look likely!

  4. I plan to cut up an old mattress protector to make a secondary (padded) bag to go in the wheel bag. Just enough room for a 190 section but not a 200. The Cap It bag material feels robust, just flexible. Andy

  5. I might look at making something myself, I did textiles at school :)
