Coming to the UK mid Aug. I suspect the rear may need replacing whilst there. Where is the best (cheapest) no-hassle place to buy and have fitted a new one South Oxfordshire, Reading sort of way? It'll be a 2CT Michelin or a Power 3, if that is compatible with the front 2CT. It won't be any good if they have to order the thing and it takes a week to arrive. Thanks.
Ride-in Tyres is my normal point of call. Mark generally has a good level of stock in and can get it quickly if he doesn't.
^ that (but yes, call him the week before just to make sure). Mark is a good bloke  What are you up to, then? And where? (*nosey*)
It's the old man's 88th on the 11th of Aug, so coming for that - village not far from Didcot. Normally I just jet in, hang around for a few days and fly out again. But seeing as it is summer, I really fancy a bit of a scoot on the 999, so coming on that. (I'll fly for Mum's birthday in Oct). Bound to see a couple of mates in London, but otherwise fluid plans. Perhaps a day's riding with local Ducati forum members? Would be fun to meet more than the two I have so far met. Just hope I don't meet the sort of storm that is on here as I type this. There were plenty of people who thought it would be good idea to go to the rock festival I am just back from on their bikes in t-shirt and shorts (it was 30°). It didn't look like such a good idea at 1am, trying to avoid aquaplaning with the rain lashing down and the temp down to 17°. I passed a couple on the motorway (in my car). Can't help feeling the rider was going to get an earful when (if) they got back home, for which he would need the complementary earplugs. He was doing 50 mph in the slow lane with his hazards on...
Well, you won't be far away - could maybe meet up at H Cafe on the Berinsfield roundabout (big biking caff). Although I'm not sure if my bike will still be in track trim - haven't decided if I cba to change it back to road until after Snetterton on 17th/18th.
Sunbathing in the garden with a Pimm's? Cruising around in the Spider with the roof down? Filing my nails? Dusting the china? See - the possibilities are endless.... You will have to show glidofglood the local roads, lord help him..... Sigh - you are correct, of course.... nothing compares....
Yes, I haven't ridden many of them for years (if I ever did - I wasn't at home much ever since I owned a bike). But the ones very local to my folks I know pretty well. I did grow up around there for 15 years. But it is true that I have spent vastly more of my adult life in Switzerland than the UK. And even the stuff I did know has all changed. Roads have disappeared, other roads have been built. Entire areas of box houses have sprung up... When I know what I'm doing and if it looks like I'll have some time, I'll advise all ducatisti of my intentions to meet them! Happy to be shown anything (within reason...)
"Neil Young? Neil Young? Now that's what I call music!" (© The Fast Show) Actually both events were fun. Makes a change, a new experience, no lasting damage. Neil Young still rips it up after all these years and sings pretty much as well as ever. I saw Phoenix on the same stage before he came on. Who are they? They had very unhummable tunes, although their lights were good. They seemed to please the children.
