What bike do you most regret selling? Owned my fair share of bikes in the the last 30 years; mostly Jap bikes, some were crap others I wish were still parked in my garage As a spotty teenager at 18 I threw all the cash I had earned from my first job at a brand new RD 250LC, wow what a machine after a bike history of a FS1 E and an XS 250. Loved the noise, loved the smell, loved the look of terror on my mum's face when I set off from home on the back wheel ! Well under intense parental pressure I was told to get on 4 wheels so after only 12 months the LC was history :frown: Now I spend hours trawling classified adds and e-bay trying to track down a perfect replica of that bike. I'm probably looking at it with a mixture of nostalgia and rose tinted glasses but it's still the bike I most regret selling.
I don't have any photo's but my CX500 is the bike I probably spent the most time/had the most fun on! It was w reg and I bought it with a couple of thou on the clock but it was immaculate, I changed the shocks, had stiffer fork oil put in and rode it everywhere! 3 trips from Norfolk to Cornwall, avoiding motorways, and it never missed a beat. Then I stupidly got married, at 21 and she had to go to help pay the mortgage. A work colleague bought it, sold it to another work colleague and he stuffed it into a car a few months later. It was still immaculate when I sold it ( local dealers said they couldn't give me what it was worth) but I'd have it back now. It wasn't the fastest machine by any stretch, but it covered miles in so much comfort.
916sps. But to be fair it was using in the October, forgetting to clean it for 3 months and leaving covered in a garage full of condensation but not knowing it had been covered in salt, uncovering in Feb and finding it looking like it had been in the canal. Broke it and sold it.
I could say it was the 2004 CBR600RR I sold back in `07 but it`s probably the KTM690 Enduro that my wife and I shared  Sold last year to a guy from Ireland. Still a bit peeved `bout that one! still we needed the dosh... Will get one again one day.....still wish I had that CBR thou`.
Either my GPz1100B2, my first big bike at 18, or my 500 Pantah, or 750F1, both of which I did lots of miles around Europe on and should never have sold :-(
harley 1980 XLS, had more fun on that bike than any other I have ever owned, motor proved to be indestructable unlike everything I had owned before it
Easy - my first legal road bike - Suzuki AP50. Sadly I dont have ANY photos but it was just like this one but with Micron spanny, drop handlebars and a bikini fairing.
My GSXR1000K1, WU51 XAB , absolute minter in classic blue/white, test rode back to back with a blade, the gixer had so much more torque at the bottom end and i loved those white wheels! Sold it around 2005.
Mint 57 plate SP2 in gloss black. Sold to fund a car after I crashed my blade and was told I wouldn't ride again. Gutted, especially as I tentatively got back on two wheels ten months later.
back in 97 : 94 916 SP ... one of just a couple that carried thebon airbox .... dropped it on the nurnburg, then carbon fitted it with the 1098 R paint job! drove all over to the UK to get the pieces! in those days just finding carbon was a feat! went through a difficult spell so had to sell the bike... still see it driven offf on a trailer... she was looking back at me with those ' how could you' eyes.... my god, that hurt...
my 996 .....my other 996 .......my 996S ............................MY 848 ..............................WHY ???????????????????? JUST WHY????????????????????????
