Which Fuel?

  1. Hi

Sorry for the stupid question, I have just picked up my new bike (2013 Multi) and I am not sure if I need to add the expensive unleaded fuel or just regular, this may be a stupid question but would feel a lot more stupid if I asked why the bike had blown up later and you guys said I put the wrong stuff in.

Im like a dog with two d***s right now, can't stop smiling or admiring it

  2. Either way it won't blow up.

Personally - I use Shell VPower by choice but I only funtime blast. If I have to trudge up the motorway I'll put regular in.

I avoid supermarket petrol unless it's that or pushing the thing.

  3. After mistakenly filling up with super, my girlfriend and I did a back to back test on her ‘12 Diavel. Result was just about enough extra mileage and ‘pep’ to offset the extra cost. If I remember, I now try and do 4 regular to 1 super. Your twin spark will be fine on regular which is what it was designed to run on. Andy

  4. Thats great, Thankyou!

  5. I notice a significant enough extended range when using premium so I always go premium now

  6. My mate filled his Aprilia on Shell VPower diesel. That didn't run very well.

At Silverstone last year I accidentally and rather expensively put in 6L of race fuel. Made sod all difference.

  7. 95Ron occasionally, mostly 98Ron premium.

  8. `Thanks guys

I put premium diesel into my van once (all the services had left at the visit so no choice) and it chugged and spluttered until it was gone, that why I was nervous of it.

I filled a week old 1198 up with deisel. Fired it up and smoked the fuel station out. Like some hammer house of horror ambience. Much to my friends delight. Ive still not lived this down and it was in 2011.

I will, generally, use the highest O i can get.

  10. If you have it locally then there is only one ethenol free petrol left in the country - use it if you can :eyes:

  13. Always use in my classic bikes especially the 2 strokes

  14. I was pretty low so filled up with shell premium but will definately look out for a go to esso

    Thanks again!

On another note, after 10 hours owning this machine, I cant honestly say I think I died and went to heaven, every moment on this thing more precious than the next, its super easy to ride, its beyond any expectations I had, I cannot find the words to explain how amazing it is. If im ever asked what my best life moment was, it wont be the birth of my kids, no no no, its March 1st 2019

  15. I've used ordinary unleaded and super unleaded in my Multistrada and honestly can't tell any. difference in performance, I make a point not to use supermarket fuel

  16. Mine seems to run better on super unleaded, so I try and use that if I can

  17. I have tried both & the bike goes like stink with either. Did have a 650bhp mental skyline once & it preferred the cheap stuff more than the top stuff.

  18. I'm genuinely quite surprised by the folks suggesting avoiding supermarket fuel at all costs. In over 25 years of motoring I've never experienced a breakdown caused by a fuel problem. What's the issue with supermarket fuel? Really am just curious.

    Sorry for thread drift.
