Hi All, I've been thinking about buying a retro-look leather jacket and have narrowed it down to two - I think. They are the Furygan Vince Corsaire and the Dianese Street Rider. I have goretex textile jacket and trousers for long trips or crap weather so it would be a short trip jacket I'd wear with bike jeans while being a total poseur. Does anyone have any experience of either jacket? Any thoughts? (About he jackets, not about me being a poseur)
The Furygan seems to have the better spec and Dianese have added a black panel that runs up the inside sleeve that just trashes the jacket for me. The only thing that puts me off the Furygan this ...
Based on limited experience of 2 Dainese jackets and 1 Furygan I`d go with the Dainese as the quality was better imo. No idea about the specific jackets you mention though.
I've got a Dainese R-twin jacket which I really like. List price was £450; ebay (as new) £160. I've bought Dainese jackets, trousers and gloves off ebay at great prices with no problems, so worth a look. Check your size first but Dainese sizing seems pretty consistent.
Never even thought about fleebay. I've never worn a Dianese jacket so not sure what size I'd need. I have an old Furygan and it's a large but I'm usually medium. I'd worry about buying a jacket that doesn't fit and not being able to return it. I guess I could try a couple on to get the fit if I can find a local stockist.
Definitely try before bidding! As a guide, I'm 40-42 chest (no beer gut) and a 52 fits me. If you don't want to go down the fleabay route, the sales are on now. ☺
this place has just opened up near my office and do all the retro cafe racer style apparel. They have an online shop part to the site. BIKE SHED SHOP
Yep got the Furygan. Had it 3 years ish and really like it. Use it as you described and also have a dainese textile vortex for colder wetter weather.
Thanks JH, the shop has some good looking jackets. Names I've never heard but some are a bit too retro, i.e. no protection. I like the Belstaff Mojave but I like it less than half as much as it costs.
Have you considered the Richa Retro jacket? I have one and its remarkably good value for money. It's held up well over the last two years. I bought the black one but wish I'd gone for the brown as it looks more aged.
Have a look at the Ducati C2 Classic. If I knew how I'd post a picture I would but I don't. Have all Dainese stuff, D Dry fabric for winter and foul weather, Ducati Air for hot days and the C2 Classic for everything in between. Nicest, most comfortable jacket I have EVER worn. Looks like Nubuck and has a removeable lining that actually works. Andy
