I need to replace the tyres on my ST2, any recommendations as to which would be best to fit. it's on Dunlops at the moment
Pico, after trying many over the last 8 years including noted tyres by Dunlop, Pirelli and Bridgestone I tried Metzeller Z6s and then Z8s when they came out about 3 years ago. Z8s are simply the best tyre I have ever had fitted, over 7k miles with good wet and dry grip. Also consider Michelin Pilot Roads
I liked Michelin 2 CT's and had them for years. Now it's Pilot Power 3's, I think. Only got the rear so far, but seems excellent. The front is imminent. I am so happy with Michelins that I can't be bothered to try anything else. Confidence inspiring wet or dry, and seem to last OK, although no doubt some other things last even better.
Denzil. Do you mean the original Pilot Roads? If so did you find them overall and especially in the wet? They're very well priced now and I'm dithering about putting a set on my summer despatch donkey. Cheers Grunt
I've got Michelin Pilot Road 3's on my Speed Triple. They are SUPERB tyres and I intended to get them again when they eventually wear out - I've done 6,500 miles on them - not a great deal of scratching (I've still got 1 inch chicken strips :Shamefullyembarrased. When I do push them to anywhere near 45% of their capabilities, they never make me nervous - unlike the Bridgestones I had on before. But Pilot road 4's?!....ooh!.... are they better than the 3's Mac?!.... I've got Pirelli Dragon Super Corsa Pro’s on my 998 - they stick to the road like shit to a blanket...runny shit!...
