  1. and whats your plan or how did you sort it?

  2. Lost a couple of stone just by cutting out all the carbs. Ate just fish in the week with salad and ate semi normal at the weekends. Have put some back on but back to 34 jeans so so long as i can stay at that will be happy.

    Regards Steve

  3. A little bit.
    Less beer, more running.

I love the phrase "move more - eat less", and should learn to adopt it!

  4. Me, I'm a fat bastard, 105kg, 1.75cm tall, no plans to change as yet, fat and happy me, can manage to do most things I want to, except running, but what 45yo really needs to run ?

  5. Lol, too many donuts is it Andy?!?

  7. yeah, every time i see your wife she gives me a donut............:upyeah:

  8. I have just been weighed at 88kg fully dressed, not bad for a 50 year old! I'm down from 36/38 to 32 jeans and it's all down to my wonderful wife changing my diet from crap food to a balanced diet! Thanks Nicky, love you

  9. describe your balanced diet and how long did it take....

  10. Recently decided to approach weight loss differently as i couldn't exercise and have dropped 10 kgs in 3 months. Heard a lot of talk about the protein diet and so tried it and let's say it worked for me. It means literally no bread, rice, biscuits, crisps or pasta. I eat a lot of fish and prawns when they're cheap enough plus loads of rabbit food. If I feel myself weakening I just scoff apples.

  11. I used to eat a lot of junk (chips, sweets, crisps etc) we now eat rice, pasta, etc. more vegetables and I have cut out just about all the chips etc. I am a firm believer in a little bit of everything, not eating huge meals. My ex wife hated veg, so meals consisted of just meat and potato. I had never eaten curries, Thai, Chinese or Italian before Nicky and I got together, now my diet is far more varied.

  12. I'm 5' 6" and was real skinny up to 30 years old. I was really fit and only weighed 9 stone 8lbs. Then the weight piled on and I've struggled to keep it off ever since. I hit 12 stone 8lbs a few months back and thought that enough is enough. I just made sure I ate a balanced healthy diet and restricted my calorie intake. Ultimately your weight is determined by how many calories you take on board vs how many you use. Simple really. If you restrict your calorie intake and the weight doesn't come off then just keep dropping the amount until your weight starts to come down.
All was going well and I was dropping about 2lbs per week, then I watched a programme on telly about fasting. There are massive health benefits with fasting besides weight loss so I am currently doing the 5-2 diet which is basically two days per week restrict calories to 600 per day for a man, 400 for a woman. As I'm a small man I've gone for 500 calories on my fast days. On the other 5 days you can eat whatever you want. I'm not pigging out on my normal days so as to keep the weight loss going. Some weeks I've lost only one pound, This week I've gone from 12st 10lbs on Monday morning to 12st 6lbs today, Wednesday. Mondays and Thursday are my fast days. It seems to be working on the weight loss front. Only time will tell if the health benefits are really there.

Here's a link to iplayer for anyone interested. Might be worth one hour of your life if you really can extend it by several addtional healthy years.

  13. Tut tut, you'll get into trouble for dipping your truncheon on company time!!

  14. I cut out all chocolate and so called junk food a couple of months ago and started the 2 day fasting diet.my wife also joined me on the fasting diet and cut out all alcohol. It seems to be working slowly but surely and I don't eat as much on the non fasting days either. As I couldn't burn calories, due to not being able to do rigorous exercise,I have limited my input of calories.

  15. unfortunately that Horizon programme is not available for some reason Gilps

  16. I'm not saying my weight loss was a quick fix, far from it, I've lost about 3 stone in weight over the last 7 years, it would probably have been more if I hadn't had back problems which have limited my mobility. It's meant I've had to give up volleyball which was a great way of keeping fit, but that's part of growing old I guess.

  17. I used to hover between 7and half stone to 9 looked better at 9 .
    Now I'm fat !!!! Not oh I've put on 2lb I'm so fat ... I'm fat..

Lost a stone recently and was chuffed until last week back on steroids :( by mouth and injection .
It's that or loose my sight I want to howl :(
Hospital just said my medicines are not helping so I will have to try harder then normal.
I really hate being short and dumpy it shows every poxy pound.
I piled on weight when I got pre eclampsia a few years back .
Put on stones in 6 weeks.
The photo of me before pre eclampsia and after are unreal.
My iron reserve is sposed to be 14 to 28 today mines 4 :(
    I'm very anaemic now.

    I feel like shit.
A little while ago after being in constant pain was diagnosed with a form of arthritis so spending hours in gym like I used to is out :(
I'm now going to write down what I eat
And eat veggies and lentils and stuff.

  18. I went from 17 stone to 13 stone by training for London Marathon. Which meant I also cut out snacking during the day before running and also cut down on beer at the weekend cos running with Hangover is no fun. I needed something big and dramatic to motivate me. Done 3 marathons now and raised over £6k for charity. My weight varys between 14 and 15 stone which isn't skinney but is better than 17

  19. Hope you're eating plenty of liver, black pudding, etc to get some iron in you. I don't suppose you are short of vitamin B12, by any chance? Inability to absorb B12 (Cobalamin) from food is one consequence of "Pernicious anaemia" which is an autoimmune condition, as is arthritis. Just a thought.

  20. Balanced diet me. Burger in each hand!

Seriously Last year I lost 1 1/2 stone down to 17 st. which was a lot better than what I was. I cycle backwards and forwards to work when I can. approximately 4 times a week 12 miles a day (including a train journey) . Once sometimes twice a week I try and do the full 33 mile journey back home

Im 6'2" my days of being an Adonis are long since gone now its all about keeping the heart and lungs going. Trouble with me is I like my food and ale far too much. Cut that out and i would likely be 10st 4 ish!
