1198 Why Deactivate The Lambda Probes ?

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Proddieracer, Mar 8, 2015.

  1. I had my ecu reflashed by a nice chap on here. It is now carrying a programme mirroring the DP Programme for Termi slip ons and air filter.

However on another thread I saw that CJS also deactivate the lambda's too and it made me wonder why. Surely as long as you can influence the self learning or set hard targets for the lambdas it is better to keep closed loop in place ?

    Any input appreciated

  2. When you buy the DP Exhaust/ECU kit they come with the blanks for the lamdas as the DP mapping disables them. The Lambdas are there so the bike can pass emission tests. You can read about them here Oxygen sensor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia For 'self-learning' you really need a Wideband Lambda Sensor as the OEM ones aren't up for the tasks. At the end of the day you have fitted a performance part, why restrict things. Set the CO with the fuel trimmer and a gas anaylser. Then enjoy.

PS. It's not mirroring, it is now a DP ECU.
