Wife dosent like it :-(

  1. After getting the S2R 1000 and trying to get my wife out on it, she finally agreed and got kitted up.

As soon as she got on the bike, she didn't like it. she couldn't reach the grab handles, and felt very uneasy on the bike so unfortunately folks, it has to go.

Now I know what you are all thinking, keep the bike and don't take her out but motorcycling and Ducati's are an interest for both of us.

So, Im now looking to SWAP for an ST3/ST4 if anyone knows of someone who has one and is looking for a Monster S2R 1000.

    Thanks
    Pete

  2. Pah! Buy an ST3 or 4 AS WELL!

    S'obvious, innit?

I had a 907 all the time I had an 851 and a 916 - precisely for taking the wife on the back.

  3. Why not wear a pillion belt. Cant imagine anyone feels secure with any grab rail

  4. I wouldn't worry about it. She's got the rest of her life to do that.

  5. Keep the S2R and buy an ST2 for the missus. You can pick a good'un up for £1500 and they're still cracking bikes.

  6. Buy a ventura rack system. They have a grab rail that fits the side rails that she will easily reach

  11. TBH I've known of a few locally that have gone for £1000 to £1500.

But then again they're not as "sexy" as most Dukes and being a Duke they are perceived as high maintenance if compared to Jap or German touring bikes.

  14. £1500 is a lot more than my ST4 is worth ! From a pillion point of view it's a lot easier to get onto the back of a Monster than it is to get onto an ST4 - especially one with a top-box on...
