  1. So I'm 30 miles from home but 70 miles from my destination and the engine management light has just come on. Error code is EXVL which I'm guessing is exhaust valve. Is it safe to continue or should I go home (bear in mind if I keep going the 70 miles I need to get home)?

  2. it will be fine.

  3. Just kick it off in a foam mouthed rage

    Then carry on ;)

  4. Ok cheers guys.
    Kept going n didn't miss a beat.
The light went back out after about 20 miles or so.

We'll see what it's like on the return journey.

  5. Are you in the AA? You should be ;)

  6. If it is the exhaust valve, they are renowned for sticking.

  7. Yeah I'm green flag. And got a warranty. That's why I just kept going.

I've read on here they are a bit notorious for failing so why shouldn't mine.

  8. Yes definitely :upyeah:

  9. Made it back no issues. Light never came back on. Just keeping me on my toes I guess.

So out of curiosity what happens when it does stick/fail. Lumpy running, poor acceleration or a a ball of flames al a Ghost Rider :Woot:

  10. If it sticks open nothing happens at all - but it may run better at low rpm (with a little more noise).

If it sticks closed or nearly closed you will find it loses all power at around 6000 rpm and some loss even below that.
