  1. Being a first time Ducati owner I've heard that after the winter the bikes have problems with the display coming up saying there are problems. Is this true?

  2. Do you believe everything you are told down the pub? Ducati’s are no worse than any other marque.

    And thread moved btw

  3. its true so best to sell your shiny 1299 before its starts to fall apart. im a nice guy so ill offer you 5k for it and a bag of savoury snacks. no need to thank me.

  4. Very funny

  5. Possibly, but I’d probably recommend keeping it in a garage myself.

  6. The main problem with Ducati’s and winter is corrosion of fasteners, engine cases etc etc, same to varying degrees with other marques, so taking it off the road when there is salt about is a very good idea, provided your garage isn’t unduly damp you should have no issues with the electronics due to it being laid up, but do put the battery on a trickle charger or periodically charge it, also occasionally firing it up and letting it get to operating temperature is a good idea IMO, I have an old Honda CBR that I use in the winter to keep my Ducati’s in good condition.

  7. ACF-50 is your friend. If you don't maintain stuff or care for it, expect it too fall apart. Although the fasteners really should be of better quality for such a premium brand as Mark9 states.

  8. Starting a Ducati after winter is like waking a teenager before midday. It needs bacon.

  9. All bikes suffer after a winter on the roads. Salt is a complete bastard for all bikes, cars, trailers, hgv.

  13. Would you suggest a fresh full tank of new fuel of run it down as best as possible?

Bike will be in the house?

  14. Empty it out totally if in the house, a light spray of ACF50 in the filler and then close if metal, dry if plastic or alloy...
