Totally crap,boring and badly acted film. In my opinion.

if you like the film there is a book on his life story which is a great read.

same author that wrote the book on john britten, another great read.

 

one of my favourite films. ( as well as Zulu )

 

Most professional reviewers (ie, those paid for their opinions) give it four or five stars. Great movie. Superb study of the single-minded pursuit of a self-inflicted goal - and a great bike to boot! Anthony Hopkins is excellent as Burt Munroe. (IMNVHO).

 

Anthony Hopkins plays Burt Munro in a subtle, understated way which is sympathetic and convincing. So unlike the usual overdone Hollywood pantomimes.

 

Second that, it is a great entertaining film but the book is better.

Checked it out on Amazon. Cheapest price £40 dearest below. WTF?!?! I could buy a genuine Ducati decal for that ...

 

I bought the DVD when it was first released............currently working on two Indian paintings.

I bet there aren't many people out there these days that could cast their own pistons in the garden shed, fit them to their bike and then break the record for that category bike......

........let alone do it at the age he was.

I agree. But having seen the film twice I would not have though many bikers would have found it boring!
