Hi , previously asked for some advice on selling my 1299. From the suggestions I rang a few dealers who only wanted to put it in their showroom and give me £10k if it sold which I thought was a piss take .They seem to be holding their value now with high mileage standard ones going for 11.5k so I am going to advertise it online but not sure weather to put that standard cans back on and sell the akrapovic cans separately . and if it’s worth the hassle? What are the cans worth on their own? Also have the rizoma foldable mirrors with built in indicators so it could fit through my house, these were £400 aswell so think I’ll put the standard mirrors back on . Is the bike. Gonna be worth that much more with the extras or would you sell them separately ? Bike has only done 2100 miles so if priced correctly should sell in standard form for decent money anyway?
If it was me i'd put it back to the original factory spec and offer them to the new buyer at a extra cost or he or she doesn't want them, then perhaps ebay them but do your homework on the secondhand pricing beforehand.
Back to standard and offer bits as extra/ebay as above said. Aftermarket parts rarely add much value unless the other party was thinking of adding them anyway. I think those Akra cans will still go for a few quid if in good condition.
Depends. Do you want to sell quickly? If so, the extras help grab attention, just don’t expect more than a standard bike. You’ll only get a few hundred quid probably from the extras and it’s hassle to change to consider too. If it was thousands, wheels, full system, loads of carbon, probably worth the hassle.
Whenever possible, I've replaced the big ticket aftermarket parts with stock on previous bikes, as they add nothing to a trade-in in my experience.
Definitely back to stock considering the value of used quality parts right now. Your stealer will certainly not want to give more for it when buying in! But will ask a premium price when selling due to the parts fitted! simples
I may take the exhaust off then, it’s in mint condition and they are circa £2000 new and it’s definitely not gonna add that value when I sell it, exhaust was fitted to the bike when new so only covered 2000 miles aswell and the standard one is unused. Any idea how difficult and time consuming it is to change the end cans on the 1299? Also I have the upmap for the akrapovics, will I need to do anything once the exhaust has been changed over to make it run better? Sorry for all the questions . Thanks
