  1. Hi folks, newbie and Ducati first timer here. Had dozens of bikes over the years but never had a Ducati - it's not gone very well so far LOL. I have a 2003 multistrada 1000ds, it's giving me a seriously hard time. Already changed the starter, which was a project in itself, put a new battery in it and sorted an immobiliser problem. I now have to find and fix several exhaust leaks but my biggest worry is a very slow starter, I have posted in the tech section. Anyway, hi, hopefully I will be able to add value as well as benefit from being a member.

  4. Search exactstart cables on the forum.

    And welcome aboard.

  5. Hi, good luck with the bike

  6. Greetings!

Exact cables together with your new battery will probably resolve the starting hassles

  7. Welcome into our mad house :)

  8. I got done for criminal damage the other week - the Judge asked for proof of insanity before sentencing me. When I told him I have a Porsche and a Ducati he let me off all charges. Just sayin'

  9. thanks, I already looked in to them but I don't believe it's cable related. I have already tried going direct on to the motor and it made no difference. The motor is pulling anything up to 360 amps which it would not be doing if the cabling was less than perfect. It's an odd one.

  10. Thanks but I have already ruled out cable by terminating direct on the motor and the battery is a huge bosch car battery fully charged to 12.8 volts. Even with the starter pulling 360 amps peak it's not turning over the compression stroke properly. When using the same set up on my fazer it spins like a good un.

  11. Into the rubbish bin with you :D we like pictures of rubbish bins and it keeps me happy

  12. Welcome and enjoy. Good luck with sorting the starting issue. Plenty of knowledgeable folks about here.
