As my second bike? Not the second bike i've ever owned, but alongside something a bit more chilled for city riding... i'm sure there are plenty of 748 gurus on here; do you think it's a 'kosher' r model? And what questions re maintenance/care should I ask to get a better picture of condition if I call this guy? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. I am trying to make sure at least one bike I have is a Duc, when I sell my monster! Ed
A 748 as a city bike, are you sure ? You would ( IMHO ) be better off with a taller bike, somethying that will let you see over the traffic etc.
It could be, but its not original. Best thing to do is to get the VIN Plate and contact Ducati who will authenticate. The 'R' has been added on to the side fairing panel also.
As above its not original, I doubt it's an R as it would already be on the side panel not the tacky R sticker, also I don't recall the older variant having Ohlins forks although I could be wrong, lots not right TBH
It could be a R..... The ad says carbon side panels and its got a full belly pan on as well so defo not OE. The fairings aren't my cuppa, but the rest looks about right. Ohlins, alloy subframe, 4 pad calipers etc. all 2001 stuff... not bad money if its what its supposed to be... Even with fairings. If they have the originals then that would be a bonus
Thanks all, I think best to get a 'bog-standard' s or similar, am not a good enough rider for it to matter right now. Mechanical condition and price most important in order! Will start a proper look in June/July..
