Would you buy your track day pix as postcards to send?

  1. No way. Track day photos are just for me, if I buy them at all

  1. I have a question, track day devotees.

For a new product I am marketing, I am interested to know whether you would be interested in sending your track day photos to mates in a postcard.
The product is a regular postcard (so it would be of the circuit you used, or some other image) but is in fact a pocket. You put your track day pic inside, seal it up and mail it to a friend (or your mother, if you want to frighten her). The recipient peels off the front of the card to reveal your personal heroic action shot, sitting in a frame (the part of the front you don't peel off). There are tabs at the back to get the card to stand up.

It's inexpensive, though God knows how much the photography companies would charge. You can give me an estimation of what you'd be prepared to pay for one (postcard sized photo included).

I greatly appreciate your input. Thanks.

  2. You may want to speak to Guido, being a BSB/WSB photographer in his time I believe there isn't any market = money in it from what I recall in a conversation some time ago.

I think it's usually for 1st timer/novices and possible Euro TD's that you may make some money but on the whole a seasoned TD'er isn't interested in photos

  3. Interesting point. But track day photography is clearly interesting enough for there to be companies doing it systematically.
I take that as a given. My product just bolts on to what they are already doing.

Looking at the track day photo thread, it seems that most people have at least a few.

  4. I'm a regular trackday goer (did ten this year) and always buy some photos. I just really like them as it gives me a good record of progress in body position, line, that sort of thing, plus I really like seeing myself on my bikes. Yes sad I know  Personally I don't think I'd want to send my photos as a postcard, I'd just email them to like minded friends. So personally I don't think the idea will generate enough of an income by itself but if it were an option within a photo sales package, some riders may give it a go. Sorry. Don't take our word for it thou. If you feel passionately about the project, give it a go then if the worst happens, at least then you'll know you tried. Good luck dude :upyeah:

  5. Thanks Matt.
The product exists and has all sorts of applications. I just think that track days could be one of them. It's something that can just be added to the package that the photographic companies are already offering. They don't have to do anything different so it's all pretty low risk.
