Bought an exhaust from the bay of evil supposedly for a supersport 750 and it's nothing of the sort. Appears that it's a 750 sport/paso 2:1 conti and doesn't fit a supersport . Emailed seller twice no answer would you put a complaint into evil bay? Wanted to resolve this w/o causing a prob. Paid £210 plus postage
Yep. Ive had no end of bother lately with ebay. Seems every other thing that is used what I win is fucked. Carefully crafted photos to hide damage or being ouright broken. So far ive been refunded but now where one time I would just not leave feedback. I now leave negative since they cannot tactically negative you with the recent rule change. Now a buyer cannot be negatived
open up a ebay dispute for item not as described you are entitled to your money back with dodgy vendors if they don't reply positively after first email go straight to disputes procedures, life is too short to worry about hurting their feelings
Absolutely. Don't leave it alone til you get a result....ive been reasonably lucky on ebay but have been caught out the odd time. Not through my fault I add though.... Edit - just seen the last post....I just headed for the reply button.....well done...
Most things on eBay are covered by their buyer protection policy so it's always worth filing a report and asking for your money back. Sadly I have had to do it every now and again and I have always got my money back from Paypal\ebay, the bad news is that you often lose out on the postage, and if it's a big item then it can cost you. I lost £10 because someone described a propane space heater as working when it clearly wasn't. I got my money back but lost out on the postage, which was more than the cost of the item I won.
dishonest ebay sellers are becoming a real problem. i have had to open 6 cases this year already for 210 i woud chase it hard, ebay might refund your postage, they might not
I think you will find the item only is covered by Buyer protection. I agree it is getting to be a bigger problem, but as has been said above, I wouldn't give up. The item has been wrongly described and you are entitled to your money back. The only problem with eBay buyer protection is that it is very arbitrary and you never know if you will positively win but it doesn't mean you should not try. Every case I have opened I have won where this has happened up to now, often the threat of a case against someone forces them to resolve it before eBay intervenes.
I haven't bothered contacting him or replying to his latest email, straight to paypal who are happy to open a dispute. I have been polite and reasonable throughout, shame it cant be said for the seller. Cheers chaps
the moment you open a dispute the money is frozen from the sellers paypal account until the matter is resolved
Keep all communications so that you can back up your case and of course any replies where he has been less than helpful or rude. You should have enough to support your case.
As has been said open a dispute with eBay, list in detail why it is not as described, and that you have contacted seller, eBay see all correspondence once a dispute is opened . 99% of the time they will side with you provided you have provided detailed info
