Wow - great story. I often see expensive and fairly new bikes on Ebay that are being sold from Eastern Europe ( like Panis , Diavels, Triumph 675Rs, KTM RC8s etc and wonder how they got there and how easy it is to loose the identity of a stolen bike by re-registering it with Lithuanian (for example) - authorities. Do the equivalent of the DVLA in Lithuania take care to insist on UK V55s etc and check for stolen frame/engine numbers or do they hand over the docs and a big white numberplate and say no more? Still I suppose the engine/frame numbers will give it away if you tried to register it back in the UK - but by then the thieves have got your money.
