I did tried contacting Kyle Racing and several other Ohlins distributor and they all confirmed it is no longer in production. I also talk (through an Ohlins Distributor) with Ohlins factory regarding building a new one from parts / scratch, and they need 50 shocks batch order at minimum to even consider. So as much as I like to get a group buy... well from the trend I see most 998 owners will not spent too much money like $1.5k USD each on a brand new Ohlins rear shock... so I don't think there will be enough people buying, at least not 50 units.
Why new? Buy a used one and service it at a ohlins service location. Install a new body and spring and you cant tell the difference between new and used. €350 all in.
And why go for the 430 and not 1430? I thought the later had better and revised valving? Could be wrong though as it was a while ago I fitted mine.
That’s the price for servicing the shock plus a brand new spring. You need to add the used shock purchase on top of this. And they rarely come for less than 500€ over here…
