Got back into the UK six days ago and it has rained ever since. What is going on? "Global warming" ? Utter rubbish - it's supposed to be summer and it's cold, wet and miserable ! :frown:
I blame Mr Ben, Dr Snuggles, Ludwig and Chokey. Its all gone down hill since they have been taken off tv ;-)
I've had enough, I can't take it any longer today!!!! Just switched the central heating on again...... AL
DOCGB ride-out planned for this evening Wandsworth to Guildford then Surrey countryside - cancelled on account of chucking down with rain. Just like last year's.
My daughter was born on 27th May 2005. It was so hot I clearly remember thinking it would be perfect to have BBQ's or outdoor parties for her birthdays. It has pissed down every year since, except last year when it was really hot again. She's 8 now. Weather is changeable.
IT have a lot of rain to put through, before the next Bank Holiday... Oh, i meant before we're off to Black Forest from Thursday
Only 6 days!!! We've had over 12 months of this and I still have tankers pumping drain water out as the rainwater gets into cracks in the pipes. Good old Thames water never worried about them when it was a drought, now it's costing them millions for not carrying out proper repairs and maintenance. The answer: CO2 just gone over 400 parts per million for the first time in 3 or 4 million years = global warming = ice cap melts = sea change temp changes = Jet stream goes south and chaotic = wet, wet, wet....simples. I don't get it with those in denial. The trigger has been pulled so nothing to be done now but ride it out. Biggest problem is the rapidly growing population that is out of control. Oh well, time for another glass of wine.
you don't seem to hear much about global warming, it's always "climate change" now . In a couple of years it will be called some thing else
No, that's true it isn't. I have a lot of time for thoughts and theories of Professor James Lovelock: BBC News - Today - Lovelock: 'We can't save the planet' Worth a read/listen.
The weather changes in cycles of approximately 1500 years. It always has done - there are ice cores bored in Antarctica that prove this beyond any doubt - they show weather patterns over millions of years. The whole "global warming" idea is completed drivel - it is perpetuated by governments as an excuse to raise taxes on fuel, emissions, congestion and anything else they can tag on to private transport. The warmest year in the 20th century was, in fact, 1938... The climate is changing - the amount of that change that is man-made is very small. It is blatantly obvious that we cannot reverse the changes - 98% of them are not of our making anyway. What we really SHOULD be spending money on is figuring how to cope with changes that are absolutely inevitable...
And, just to put the record straight, I did not bring this weather back to the UK with me - I have just left the Falklands after two months of sunshine...
