Riding to work. Dry roads. 14 degrees. Laughing at how good the 1299 is. Winters over. Life's great. Then this appears on dash, bike lights up and then dies. Now won't start. Now sat like a dick waiting on the AA.
more ducati woes feel sorry for you though but as long as people put up with ducati character they will send shit out.
This won't be much use to you at the side of the road - or indeed with a bike under warranty - but there is some info about sorting this error here... 2015 Ducati 1299 Panigale CAN LINE Internal Sensor Check Engine Light Error ABS Light - Ducati 1299 Forum
as above, plus :- Can Line Error - Ducati 1299 Forum try unplugging/plugging in some connectors under the seat - looking for moisture possibly if you get fed up with waiting. EDIT - ok, reading through, it's a seat removal job and access to connectors is difficult even then so probably a 'pass'.
Cheers folks. Bike just switched itself on for about 10 seconds then went off. Key in ignition but at off position.
To be fair if the gsx600 was behaving I would have been using it this morning but its being a dick too.
Just filming from 930. Little breakdown has cost me a day's pay. Do Ducati assist reimburse loss of earnings?
My 1299 did the same much to my displeasure. There is a connector under the seat which is near impossible to get to with just taking the seat off. Vast amounts of fiddling later with pokey tools I got it unplugged, seems there was a microscopic spec of corrosion on the inside. Sprayed and re-plugged back in and got it started so I was able to take it down the dealers for them to investigate further. They said they went through all the connectors and cleaned them all up but that was all that was the problem. Not great having the bike become a paper weight due to a crappy electrical connector that's evidently not protected enough. They did allude to having other bikes with this problem. A google reveals that as well. Good luck with yours.
I let the dealer know and i hope it is something as simple as that. It makes sense to be honest as i've ridden it in torrential rain last week.
Me too on my 1198s (but a couple of summers ago). Turned out to be a known (but rare ?) TC fault. New TC unit, new coil + new ECU. £3k for parts only. Thank god, still under warranty
Sounds like the 1299 resembles my 999S. A thorough downpour and the thing turns into a hysterical schoolgirl, ending is a massive sulk until it dries out.
